Like all of the Ghostbusters equipment, the Tablet Tracer was invented by Tracy the Gorilla and was often referred to as 'Tracy's Tracer'. The Ghostbusters used the Tablet Tracer to locate the missing pieces of the stone tablet which were hidden across time and space by Prime Evil.
